It has been brought to my
attention that Performance Physical Therapy is in its 15th year of business.
I think back to when we started and sometimes smile and am often surprised as to
how far we’ve come. The first office was a cubicle in the “old” Fort Collins
Club, where if someone was doing pull ups, they could look over the walls into
our office. People were very understanding, to say the least.
Our first real employee was Mary
Hofer. “Sweet Mary” as I call her. She is like my Radar O’Reilly, knowing what I
need before I do. She is still part of the staff and remains very important to
me. People have come and gone to fill positions, sometimes just trying to help
put out fires and clean up some chaos. In 2002, I met Gail Axtell. She came in
as a patient and I talked her into a “temporary” job as Office Manager. I think
she felt sorry for me and stayed. As you all know I am a Physical Therapist not
a business manager. She has brought organization, calm and friendship into the
office. She is still here steering the ship straight. |
Pongo (the therapy dog) joined
the group in 1999. She was so small when I brought her home I didn’t have the
heart to leave her at home. She is now 12 years old and going strong. She enjoys
all the attention from patients with belly rubs and treats.
We continue to keep our door open
in the ever-changing Health Care Industry. Our patients are a big part of this.
We appreciate their continued referrals to family and friends. The staff is also
a significant part of this. Our physical therapist and office staff are the best
the city has to offer, and Performance Physical Therapy is fortunate to call
them family.
We continue to love what we do. I
am optimistic about the future and feel privileged to serve the community of
Fort Collins and Northern Colorado. |
